The
Ukulele is one of the best instruments to learn as a first instrument, as it is very simple! It also makes a great additional instrument for any musician. Whether or not you progress quickly or take a while to get used to it, you’ll need a good
Beginner Ukulele.
Ukuleles are quite good in that even an affordable model will suffice to get you a good way forward. The only thing I would advise to avoid is a model without geared tuning pegs. Not many manufacturers make them now, but friction based tuning pegs are not nearly as stable as geared ones.

Rocket Ukuleles
Raising the price a bit for the Ukuleles by
Rocket gives you a bit extra. Rocket are known for being favoured by education services and schools, so you know you’re in safe hands learning on one of these. With great tuning stability and sound, these Ukuleles also come with a
gigbag that has some padding.
The Rocket models also have a few choices of colour. Being available in a dark
Natural finish, along with a
Black and
Purple similar to the 3
rd Avenue options. They are also available in
Red and
Dark Blue.
Mahalo Ukuleles
Mahalo offer the most colourful options to start with. Their aptly named “Rainbow” Ukuleles come in most colours you can think of. There is no natural wood option but the colours are plentiful. Coming in
Black,
Dark Blue,
Green, Light Blue,
Orange,
Purple,
Red, White and
Yellow, you won’t be stuck for options!
These Ukuleles offer their large range of colours, but they are a bit more expensive than the previous options. Of course, the Mahalo Ukuleles also come with a gigbag for easy transport.
From here, you can of course spend more money, well into the hundreds and even thousands for specialist models, but to start with these three brands are always the favourites to start with.
