1966 was a very special, musically defining year.
Two key musical developments were conceived in 1966. Yamaha Musical Instruments, et moi.
Since then, Yamaha has developed a wide range of brass and woodwind instruments utilising the latest technologies as well as skills honed over the years.
Working with everyone from professional musicians to those who are taking their first musical breath, Yamaha continues on this journey to enrich people’s lives through music. #Same
The Xeno Series represents a fusion of craftsmanship that involves outstanding instrument design, advanced technology, as well as the experience and talent of many respected artists. These are trumpets that inspire. Their outstanding power and projection combines with refined resistance and response for extraordinary tonal flexibility. Xeno trumpets continue to evolve with the artists who play them, towards the ultimate goal of ideal musical expression.
Known for its superb power and projection, coupled with a big warm sound, the Yamaha YTR8335S
Xeno is arguably the most popular professional model on today's market. The Xeno's heavyweight construction produces a solid tone core for a rich strong sound. A sound that won't spread or break up no matter how hard it is pushed.
A new bell design contributes to optimum resistance which also enhances playability in the upper register. Thinner valve casing and pistons, as well as the modified angle of the branch tube, result in improved response providing the ideal blowing resistance.
When you notice the attention to the smallest details...
- such as the button on the 1st slide to fine-tune the blowing resistance for better control
- how the height of the main slide water key gutter has been increased for optimum resistance
- the ends of the water key spring have been curled for improved response
- available in yellow brass or gold brass, and in either a clear lacquer or Silver plate finish
...You know you are lucky enough and privileged to be buying the best!
Available Silver plated or with a clear lacquer, in either gold brass or yellow brass configuration, these professional cornets are a sight to behold.
Picking up where the Xeno left off, Yamaha's flagship YCR8335 Neo Cornet has a richer and more flexible sound with an easier higher register. Designed in conjunction with Professor David King, Russell Gray and Phillip McCann - three of the biggest names in Cornet playing and Brass Band conducting - the Neo has been developed to suit any genre of music.
Under extensive trials with the Brighouse and Rastrick Band, Principal Cornet Stuart Lingard has been playing the prototype for some time. He has even won a number of solo awards with the instrument.
Due to the use of Gold Brass in the construction of the Leadpipe, Tuning Slide Crook and connection tube the instrument is now even more durable. The material allows it to be even more versatile than the Xeno. Even the trigger spring has been improved to give better performance and stability with the two-legs spring. The Gold Brass, allows for a more mellow, traditional and intimate sound.
Supplied with an attractive hard case - including the Neo logo and Yamaha MPCR16E Mouthpiece - the Neo Cornet is the new benchmark in professionalism.
The 631G flugelhorn is used by many of the world's leading musicians. The tone is characterised by an extremely round, mellow sound with an abundance of tonal colour.
The Yamaha YFH631 features a gold-brass bell for a wonderfully rich, dark sound. This also offers a traditional free blowing response. The option of a beautiful clear lacquer finish or Silver plate is a nice touch. There are triggers on the third valve slide for fine intonation adjustments. Hand-lapped pistons and slides ensures an accurate fit and seal between the pistons and casing or slide parts.
Such attention to detail helps achieve smooth air flow and action that improves the response/intonation of the instrument. Monel pistons are resistant to corrosion and provide a smooth and precise action for many years. Tuning is made easier with the movable mouthpiece receiver.
An ideal choice for the pro player, and extremely popular amongst brass bands and Jazz musicians alike.
It has all of the manufacturing DNA found across all of the Yamaha professional range. As always the attention to detail in its build and sound quality is second to none.
