Denis Wick 5511 Plunger mute for Tenor Trombone, made from high purity spun and coated aluminium with a protective rubber rim, suitable for all Tenor Trombones.

Plunger mutes are often used in a manner similar to the hat mute, where the musician manipulates it in front of the bell while playing with their other hand. A "closed" plunger gives a tone similar to a tightly inserted cup mute while moving it from open to closed can give you many different sound effects.
