At Normans we not only understand the need for efficient delivery but also the importance of informing and reassuring our customers prior to placing an order. Here are the answers to a few key questions our customers ask about delivery. COVID-19 Delivery Update:

We are still dispatching online orders at our normal rate, however many couriers are experiencing disruptions in their services, so parcels may take slightly longer to arrive. Please contact us if you have any questions.

How much do you charge for shipping?

All orders with a total value of over £75.00 for delivery to a UK mainland* address will qualify for FREE SHIPPING.

Prices relating to the shipping charge for an individual item are clearly listed at the bottom of each individual product page under Delivery & Returns. Where multiple items are ordered the charge is calculated based on the items purchased and the delivery destination. The total shipping charge is clearly stated at checkout prior to a request for payment. For certain overseas destinations we will generate a bespoke quotation after checkout is completed. In this case you will not be charged for delivery at checkout as payment will be taken on your acceptance of our shipping quotation.  

Due to the complex nature of parcel delivery (particularly overseas) Normans reserves the right to amend the quoted shipping price in exceptional circumstances (for example large/heavy items, such as a Piano, to first floor apartments/final destinations at the extremities of a region). Please be assured that this is a very rare occurrence and we will always contact you prior to shipping in order to discuss the issue with you and agree a mutually acceptable cost/solution.

*Mainland UK does not include Scottish Highlands and Islands.

How do you deliver orders in the UK?

Once your order has been picked, packed and passed to one of our delivery partners we will send you an email to confirm it's on the way along with a copy of your invoice. The delivery method used will be shown just above the delivery address on the invoice.

Smaller items are usually sent via Royal Mail 48, and Standard Deliveries usually arrive within 2-5 working days of your order being placed.  They may also be delivered on a Saturday depending on the dispatch date. For more information on our Royal Mail 48 service please click here

Larger/Heavier items, are shipped using Parcelforce Worldwide and Standard Deliveries usually arrive within 2-5 days of your order being placed. You’ll be given a tracking code for your parcel, in which you can follow its journey from our warehouse to your delivery address. Parcelforce Worldwide will contact via text at the beginning of your delivery day and then to give you an hour delivery window. To get this service, you will need to provide us with your mobile number when placing your order. Parcelforce Worldwide will deliver between 7am and 6pm Monday to Friday (Weekend Deliveries Possible).

Extra large items (for example Digital Pianos and Double Basses) are shipped via Arrow XL. Very large and heavy items such as Digital Pianos need extra careful handling upon delivery. That's why we have chosen to work with Arrow XL. They are a specialist 2 man delivery company with the expertise to ensure you are looked after every step of the way. As the UK's largest 2 man delivery service, they have plenty of experience, delivering around 6,000 orders every day with that added personal touch. Piano deliveries, due to their bespoke nature, are delivered by a specialist firm and our warehouse team will contact you to arrange a mutually convenient delivery date. 

Express Shipping 

On the majority of our products we offer an Express Shipping option for a small surcharge. If this is available on the item you have ordered, and to the delivery location requested, you will be presented with the option at checkout. Express deliveries to UK mainland are Next Working Day (Monday to Friday) providing your order is placed by 2pm Monday - Friday (e.g. if you place your order at 13:00 on a Monday, you will receive your parcel on Tuesday. If you place your order on Sunday at 13:00, it will also be delivered on Tuesday). A full breakdown of our Express Shipping charges and transit times can be found in the 'How long will my delivery take to arrive?' section below. All express deliveries are made by Parcelforce Worldwide, for further information on their service please click here. Please note: Express shipping is not available with Arrow XL deliveries (we use Arrow XL for extra large products such as digital pianos).

Weekend Shipping

To make things easier for those who are unable to accept deliveries during the week, we also offer a Weekend Delivery service within the UK. This is available on many items and the option will be shown at checkout if available to you. Orders will need to be placed before 14:00 on Friday for delivery that weekend. Orders placed after this time will be delivered the following weekend and will be delivered by Parcelforce Worldwide. Weekend shipping is available at an extra charge.

How long will my delivery take to arrive?

The time it takes for your order to arrive will depend on the delivery service you have chosen and the country your goods are to be delivered to. The table below gives a full breakdown of countries, services and costs. Do you offer International Delivery?

Yes, we are able to deliver worldwide but the services we use and the shipping charges obviously vary depending on the destination and size of your parcel. 

The Shipping Table in our 'How long will my delivery take to arrive?' section above provides an overview of our International services. For further country specific delivery information, please select your country from the dropdown menu below.

Please note that overseas customers are responsible for paying any local taxes or duties on importation of goods to their country.  

Unfortunately we are unable to ship Yamaha and Line 6 products outside of Europe. If you have added any of these products to your basket, you will be asked to remove them or change your delivery address before you can proceed with your order. Any orders received that do not comply will be refunded and you will be notified.

Maximum Parcel Weights

For non UK deliveries, our couriers will only accept parcels up to 30kg. Orders that exceed this weight (e.g. digital pianos) will be shipped via an alternative method. 
In this case, you will not be charged for shipping when completing checkout. Once your order is received, we will source the best possible shipping quote and a member of our team will contact you to confirm your acceptance. If you are happy, they will take payment and arrange for your goods to be shipped. In the unlikely event that you do not accept we will simply cancel your order and a full and immediate refund will then be processed.

BFPO Addresses

Unfortunately we are unable to accept deliveries to BFPO addresses. If you have any questions about this, please give us a call on +44 (0) 1283 535333 and our team will be happy to help. 

If I order multiple items will they be delivered together?

Where possible we will always ship all items ordered together and this is the case for the vast majority of our deliveries. However, there may be occasions where items will arrive separately either because the stock is located in different warehouses or there is an availability issue with one of your products. We will always do our very best to get your complete order to you as quickly as possible and keep you informed of any potential delay.
