The Axus AXP15 is a compact 54-key starter keyboard for young beginners: 255 timbres, 255 rhythms and 24 demo songs, plus a mini microphone and music rest in the box. It is powered over USB — plug it into a wall adaptor or even a portable battery pack — and small enough to fit desks, bedrooms and classrooms.

Is 54 keys enough for a child to learn on?

For the first year or two, yes — beginner tutor books rarely go beyond the range of a 54-key keyboard, and the smaller size is friendlier on desks and small bedrooms. Children continuing with lessons usually move up to a 61-key instrument next.

Are the keys touch sensitive?

No — the AXP15 has standard (non-touch-sensitive) keys, which keeps it affordable as a first taste of music. If your child is starting formal lessons, the Axus AXP2 with touch sensitive keys is the better long-term choice.

How is it powered?

Over USB — plug the included cable into any USB wall adaptor or a power bank, or add the Axus mains adaptor. That flexibility means it works at grandparents' houses, on holiday and anywhere in between.
